Thanks to the efforts of Farnham Residents Ward Councillors David Beaman and Graham White, a final decision on the reserved matters planning application (WA.2024/00599) on the layout and design of the proposed 320 home development at Coxbridge was deferred at the meeting of Waverley Borough Council’s Planning Committee held last Tuesday.
Why is this good news for Farnham?
The decision means that the developers, Cala Homes must now recognise and respond to the concerns of local residents, in particular those on Elkins Grove and Hazell Road.
Their concerns about the eastern boundary of the development had been reiterated at the public meeting called by Councillors Beaman and White earlier in the week, and both councillors made sure that the views of their constituents were fully appreciated by the Planning Committee.
As Councillor Beaman made clear, “Coxbridge Farm is the largest allocated residential development in Farnham’s Neighbourhood Plan and it’s vital that we get it right”.
Following the decision, the two Farnham Residents Ward Councillors will now be working to review and resolve the outstanding issues as soon as possible.
